Darren, a 6 year U.S Navy Veteran, got Stella a little over a year ago and can personally attest to the blessing that an animal can be in a Veteran’s life. Stella has helped Darren with the stress and anxiety that he deals with on a daily basis. With Pets for Heroes, Darren hopes to make the lives of Veterans and First Responders easier, to help them cope better with the unique stresses they face, and help them rest a bit better when away from work. Heather Brown | Trainer | Training and Foster Coordinator
Heather has been training dogs for over 20 years. She is an AKC CGC and trick dog evaluator, an AKC temperament test judge, an AKC junior showmanship judge, an AKC certified fitness instructor, and is a member of the association of pet dog trainers. Heather also works with 4-H kids and their dog projects! She uses her dogs as demo dogs for business and they are also therapy dogs. Heather’s work with Pets for Heroes is very special to her; she is married to a Veteran and has several friends and family members who are Veterans and First Responders.
